Halong Bay trip for disabled guest
A cruise vacation is a great way to experience the magnificent Halong Bay from a comfortable and safe environment. However, at the moment, there is no disabled-friendly boat in Halong Bay.
First, to be specific, disabled guest means person with disability: physical or sensory. At the moment, all vessels sailing daily on Halong Bay range from 2 to 3 floors with only stairway (except for Golden Cruise 9999 – the only cruise with escalator until this moment) so it is inconvenient for travellers with disabilities to access to the boats. Also with many activities involved during the itinerary, it will be unsafe for disabled travellers to participate in some of them.
In case passengers really want to try a cruise trip, they must commit that their health can withstand the trip and agree not to engage in any off-board activities such as kayaking, visiting fishing village by sampan. Disabled guests are often subject of a surcharge from 30-50 USD so that the cruise will arrange staff to escort and support them personally. Another option for disabled travellers is to book a charter cruise where personal butler is provided and they can design their own itinerary including all activities that they are capable of.
Aside from disabled guests, for safety purpose, many Halong Bay cruises also refuse to serve customers with the following cases:
- Customers suffering from diseases: Sleepwalking; Hallucinations; Epilepsy; Fear of being enclosed; Guests are sick, must be treated with drugs that are preserved under special conditions in the cold, if the drug has problem, that will cause danger to life.
- Customers with body weight over 120kg
- Customers are more than 2m in height
