Titov Island (Titop Island)
Named after Ghermann Titov, a heroic Russian astronaut, Titov Island (Titop Island) owns a beach shaped like a crescent moon topped with snowy white sand, crystal blue water and the green background Titop Mountain at behind.
Located in the heart of Halong Bay, only 8 kilometers away from the Southeast of Bai Chay Wharf, Titop Island wins a high reputation among both Vietnameses and expats for its calm and fresh atmosphere, clean and heavenly landscape. Although its size is small comparing to other beaches in Halong, you can do plenty things here: from swimming to tanning, from water volleyball to trekking to the top of nearby Titop Mountain for a panoramic view of Halong Bay.
Most of cruise tours in Halong Bay these days include Titop Island in their itineraries with a few hours free time so that tourists can enjoy swimming or playing around on the beach to cool off the heat...
How to reach it?
There are 2 options you can choose:
- Take a day boat (can be found at Bai Chay Tourist Wharf) for a 4-6 hours journey. There are 3 different itineraries so you should take the one which goes to Titop Island (usually the 6-hour trip), it is safer to check and confirm with the boat owner about the itinerary cause they might change the route due to weather, time duration...
- Go with an overnight cruise tour and as said above, most of them go to Titop Island.
Entrance fee?
You need to pay 50,000 VND/person (around 2.5 USD) to be able to access to the beach and the way lead to the mountain. Usually, that fee is already included in the price of cruise tour but not for day boat.

Hon Gai Church (Hong Gai Church) is located on Dao Hill, Halong City, where you can capture the panorama view of Halong City center and look over to Bai Tho Mountain.
The church was built first in 1933 basing on Roman architecture, but was destroyed in 1972 during Vietnam War. In 1998, the reconstruction made the church look much more spacious and decent with 42 meters in length, 11 meters in width, and a 33 meters bell tower. It is the first in Halong Bay and biggest church in Quang Ninh until now.
How to reach it?
Hon Gai Church is in the center of Hon Gai, Halong City, near many landmarks like Vincom Mall, Quang Ninh Post Office, Bai Tho Mountain. Among them, Bai Tho Mountain is the furthest place to go to the church, around 1.5km. It is just simple to catch a taxi to let it take you there. If you want to walk, find the intersection of Ba Deo street and 25/4 street. Then, follow Ba Deo street to the intersection of Ba Deo street and Nha Tho street, here, turn right. Hon Gai Church is awaiting for you.
Entrance fee?
Just like any other churches in Vietnam, there is no entrance fee applied.
