How to get to Halong Bay from Hai Phong city

Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong province is two adjacent provinces that shares the same sea area. As you may know, Cat Ba Island and Lan Ha Bay are, according to the administrative boundaries, officially belong to Hai Phong province but popularly known as a part of Halong Bay zone. Therefore, Halong City can be reached easily from Hai Phong City in no time.
Distance from Hai Phong to Halong Bay
- Distance from Hai Phong Center to Tuan Chau Marina: 61 km
- Distance from Hai Phong Center to Bai Chay Tourist Wharf: 66 km
- Distance from Hai Phong Center to Hon Gai Harbor: 71 km
Good news is that Bach Dang bridge project which connects Hai Phong city and Bach Dang ward of Halong City is planned to be finished in the late 2016, promising to reduce the distance between Hai Phong and Halong Bay to 25 km. Hopefully, the moving time from Hai Phong to Halong Bay can be reduced by 30 minutes.
